About D&S Boudoir
I'm Jake, husband, father of 3, and the one behind the camera. I love sharing my creative side through photography. Though I founded Drake & Stone, it would not be complete without my wife, who is full of her own vibrance and welcoming energy and makes sure you look amazing from start to finish.
At Drake & Stone Boudoir, we are not here to fit into anyone else’s narrative of what boudoir “should” be.
This work was never about the surface. It was never about objectification, and it was never about proving anything to the outside world. It is about truth. Raw, unfiltered, undeniable truth. The kind that challenges the voice in your head that says you are not enough.
Boudoir came into our lives in a simple way, as a date night. But what we discovered was anything but simple. When someone steps in front of the camera and allows themselves to be seen, really seen, something shifts. Walls come down. Confidence rises. Stories that have been buried start to breathe again.
So no, this is not about taking photos. It is about changing the way you see yourself. It is about stepping into a space where you are respected, supported, and unapologetically celebrated. It is about reclaiming confidence that was never lost, just buried.
We don’t create confidence for you. We reveal it. We don’t change who you are. We show you who you’ve been all along.
And once you see it, you don’t unsee it.
What 's Drake & Stone?
The name Drake & Stone is another way for me to share a part of my personality. I grew up in a world of myth and fantasy novels, and Drake & Stone is an extension of that world with my personal mix of whimsy.
With the name it felt as if I had a blank canvas to mold into what I wanted it to represent. Like many of you, I have long had the ideas of who I should be pushed upon me by others.
I have enjoyed photography for most of my life. Luckily, my mother tolerated me constantly asking for film to be developed despite being early elementary aged. I amazingly had a couple photos from each batch that were in focus.
Without knowing it earlier on, photography helped slow the world before me. This allows me to attune to the moment at hand. I feel free to be myself. And that is powerful.
I have split a lot of my time between the Arts & Sciences over the years. I have had research published in peer-reviewed journals for the science side of myself while also having poems published. The first, was about donuts!
I know what it feels like to struggle with body image, to question your worth, to pick yourself apart in the mirror. I grew up watching my mother carry those same battles after my parents’ divorce. I saw firsthand how powerful insecurity can be, and how deeply it can shape someone’s identity.
Drake & Stone Boudoir exists to offer more than photographs. Boudoir, in its truest form, is not about perfection or performance. It is about truth. We use it to help women and couples recognize their worth, their beauty, and their power exactly as they are.
